Right hands were raised above right eyebrows, hearts were deeply full of remembrance, and red poppies were seen in waves of crowds as the city of Lincoln fell silent for Remembrance Day.

Veterans, serving personnel, families and cadets attend poignant service in Lincoln's High Street and Cathedral this weekend to remember the fallen.

The Armistice Day service was held at the war memorial on Lincoln High Street on 11th November. A military band led a parade of cadets and armed forces personnel through uphill Lincoln for a service held at Lincoln Cathedral.

Matt Edwards, 25, from Lincoln, who's father served in the British Army, said: "It's nice to see all of these people thinking and feeling the same thing - my dad served for 20 years, and he's here with us to remember his friends that he'd lost.

"It's sad, and I'll be spending those two-minutes thinking of the men and women my dad told me stories about as a kid, as well as all of those who spared their lives for us."
