Lincoln is a beautiful city in the East Midlands and holds a mixture of old and new architecture to catch a visitor’s eye.

With history as far back as 300BC its not surprising this city has a story or two tell.

The noticeable features of the city come from the reign of William the Conqueror. The norman King ordered the construction of the castle and later the Cathedral.

Though the stunning Cathedral you see perched on the hill today has not always looked this way; in the 1300s it was declared the tallest building in the world standing at 525 feet.

In 1548 high winds ripped through the county, blowing the Cathedral’s spires to the ground. The building you see today stands at 271 feet.

About Lincoln

Lincoln is the birthplace of the tank, without this innovation thousands more lives would have been lost during the first world war.  The first prototype tanks were tested in Burton Park.

The city was so proud of their engineering work they would lead their tanks in a procession before leaving for the frontline.

As you can see Lincoln has a hidden history but there is much more to discover, so let us show you Lincoln.
