Day of the Dead



Day of the Dead comes to life this month, igniting with colour, bone-shaking vibrant performances and a carnival atmosphere to celebrate the annual Mexican national holiday, Día de Muertos.


Taking place on November 3rd for one night only, from 10pm at the Engine Shed, the parade will feature a range of fun and joyful activities such as aerial acrobats, circus performances, Latin dancers, confetti cannons, skull face painting, stage flames and fire-breathing show performers, including many more flamboyant acts.


Professional film makeup artists will be running a candy skull face painting station, where you can transform yourself from the living, to the dead. There will also be pinatas scattered around to add the the Mexican vibe.


The Day of the Dead is observed from all over the world - and is celebrated in many ways. Most traditionally, graveyards are decorated with flowers, food offerings, photos and momentos, ans well as an annual parade that is held to celebrate the expression of the idea that death is not to be feared, but embraced as a part of life.


Local eateries will provide food and drink specials.
